DESCRIPTION:Vortragsreihe zu Virtual und Augmented Reality\nDie im Wintersemester 2019/20 startende Vortrags- und Gesprächsreihe nimmt die Möglichkeiten in den Blick\, die sich aus den neuen Technologien für Künstler*innen und Gestalter*innen ergeben. Die eingeladenen Referent*innen spiegeln die Vielseitigkeit der Ansätze und Entwicklungen und widmen sich unterschiedlichen Aspekten von Virtual und Augmented Reality sowie Immersion in der aktuellen Kunst- und Designproduktion. \n18 Uhr: VR-Präsentation\n19 Uhr: Vortrag von Daniel Birnbaum (Acute Art\, London)\nDaniel Birnbaum ist Kurator\, Kunstkritiker und Autor. Er hat u.a. die 53. Venedig Biennale (2009)\, die 1. Moskau Biennale (2005) und die 2. Yokohama Triennale (2008) kuratiert. Er war Rektor der Städelschule in Frankfurt und von 2010-2018 Direktor des Moderna Museet in Stockholm. Seit diesem Jahr ist er künstlerischer Direktor von Acute Art\, einer Agentur\, die sich auf die Produktion von VR und AR-Arbeiten von internationalen Künstler*innen spezialisiert hat. Die 2017 gegründete Firma hat bereits VR-Arbeiten von Marina Abramović\, Christo und Jean Claude\, Olafur Eliasson oder Jeff Koons realisiert. Birnbaum interessiert vor allem\, wie Künstler*innen auf die neuen Technologien reagieren\, welche Möglichkeiten sie darin sehen und wie sie die Technik für ihre Kunstproduktion nutzen. Neben seinen Kenntnissen des internationalen Kunstbetriebs und dem Gespür für neue\, junge Positionen bringt Birnbaum auch den Blick der Institution auf die neuen Technologien mit. Denn Museen tun sich bislang noch relativ schwer\, die neuen digitalen Kunstprojekte (adäquat) auszustellen. „Ideally\, digital works will be accessible in the suburbs of Lagos or outside of Zagreb. You won’t have to go to Paris to see them. It’s not about mass distribution\, it’s about omnipresence\,” sagt Birnbaum. “This could really be art for all.” \n>>> english version (lecture will be held in English)\nDaniel Birnbaum is a curator\, art critic and author.
