The event is supported by the VRARA. \nIn a post-COVID world\, XR-enabled copresence is more relevant than ever. Lead designer Karen Stolzenberg and Product Lead Savannah Niles will speak about designing gesture-based interactions and embodied communication for Avatar Chat\, a mixed-reality copresence experience on Magic Leap. She’s a product lead at Magic Leap\, leading cross-functional teams to develop new paradigms for interaction\, communication\, and copresence for a spatial computing operating system. She graduated in 2015 with her Master’s from the Media Lab at MIT\, and has designed interactive experiences for Walt Disney Imagineering and Twitter. She’s served as a juror at SIGGRAPH for 3 years. Savannah is based in Miami. \nKaren Stolzenberg\, Lead Interaction Designer\, Magic Leap\nFrom a background in architecture\, Karen works at the intersection of people\, space and technology. Currently\, Karen is a Lead Interaction Designer at Magic Leap\, where she is leads design for OS Input and Interactions on the Platform Design team. Karen led design teams to ship 4 platform apps on the first Magic Leap 1 wearable – Social\, Avatar Chat\, Outfit\, and Casting. These projects enable multi user experiences\, embodied communication and social presence in XR. Karen is forever interested in expanding the physical world through digital possibilities.
