SUMMARY:VR Jam 2023
DESCRIPTION:👋 WELCOME\nThis VR Jam is a 7 day game jam focused on VR games and is open to all skill levels. \nThis jam is for fun and to increase your skill level in developing VR games! If you need help in making your game\, want to find teamates\, or just need show off your project make sure to join our Discord servers below! Also you can find tutorials about VR development over on any of our YouTube channels to get prepared 😉. \n🦸‍♂️ MEET YOUR HOSTS\nJustin P Barnett\nChannel: https://www.youtube.com/JustinPBarnett\nWebsite: https://www.vrcreatoracademy.com\nDiscord: https://discord.gg/6mzMQx5VKk \nValem VR\nMain Channel: https://www.youtube.com/ValemVR\nTutorial Channel: https://www.youtube.com/ValemTutorials\nDiscord: https://discord.gg/V3aWnbYSke \nVR with Andrew\nChannel: https://www.youtube.com/VRwithAndrew\nDiscord: https://discord.com/invite/GvcPPKd \n🎨 THEME\nThe theme is something that your game must include\, but is loose and open to interpretation. Remember\, one of the primary voting criteria is how closely you stuck to the theme. Theme will be announced at the start time for this jam. \n💯 RATING\nAt the end of the Jam\, there will be a rating period that lasts 7 days. Voting is open to all submitters and contributors. Your game will be rated on: \nEnjoyment – How much you enjoyed playing this game.\nConcept – How interesting or unique the game is.\nPresentation – How well executed the game is.\nUse of Theme – How well the game incorporated the given theme. \n🏆 PRIZES\nThis year we’re not doing prizes\, but the top few games will be featured on the judges and hosts‘ YouTube channels! \n📏 RULES/FAQ\nRules:\nRead the rules. Not reading the rules is not an excuse for breaking them. \nKeep game content clean. No NSFW content\, offensive content\, excessive gore/violence. \nAnswer submission questions honestly. You will be prompted to answer a few questions when submitting your game. Please answer them to the best of your ability. Giving vague answers is a great way to set off red flags. \nAny games that do not follow the rules will be removed from the jam without warning. \nFAQ: \nCan I submit more than one game?  Yes\, but I would advise against it. \nCan I submit a game I already made?  No. You may only submit projects made within the time frame. We do check. \nCan I make changes during the rating period? Yes\, just make sure that the original version of the jam can still be downloaded. \nWhat engine can I use? You can use any engine or framework you like. You can even make your own if you want. \nCan I join with my team? Yes! There is no limit on team size. Find a team in the Discord server if you want! \nDo I have to follow the theme? Well\, technically…. no\, but your rating will suffer. Working with limitations helps your creativity\, so try to run with it! \nI have code and assets from other Jams I wish to use\, are these allowed? Yes! If you have the rights to use it\, anything that wasn’t made specifically for this particular jam is allowed. This jam in particular isn’t strict on the „build it from scratch“ ruling. All assets must be noted when submitting your game. \nHow can you tell if I used premade assets or made the game at an earlier stage? Outside obvious red flags\, we don’t really check. Jams are for fun. Bend the rules if you want\, just don’t cheat yourself and be a jerk to mess with genuine folk. \nHelp! I couldn’t submit on time\, what do I do? There will be an announcement on the Discord server\, as well as a community post about how to submit late if you missed the deadline. \n🎓 JAM PREP\nWant to make the best game possible during the jam? Brush up on your VR development skills in the time you have leading up to this year’s jam with lessons taught by Justin P Barnett\, Andrew\, and Valem in the VR Creator Academy! \nhttps://vrcreatoracademy.com \n🏁 STARTER PROJECT\nWe have prepared a free starter project to download for the VR Jam. It contains a basic menu with Scene Transition\, Audio Manager and a main scene with some preconfigured interactable. \nhttps://github.com/ValemVR/VR-Game-Jam-Template \nOf course using this starter project is optional but it can save you some precious time during the jam.  💪
