DESCRIPTION:The Global Game Jam is the world’s largest game jam event (game creation) taking place around the world at physical locations. Think of it as a hackathon focused on game development. It is all condensed into a 48 hour development cycle. \nnextReality.Hamburg and the Human-Computer Interaction group organize a jam site in the XR LAB at Informatikum Hamburg especially for all jammers interested in creating Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality games. \nWe offer a collection of VR/MR/AR devices for the jam\, e.g.\, several HTC Vive systems\, Oculus Rifts\, a HoloLens and a CAVE system. Additionally\, there are powerful VR-ready computers in our lab for everyone who does not have a gaming PC/laptop. Please inform us about your need of a computer during the registration for organizational reasons. \nOur jam site offers free beverages including water\, coffee\, tea as well as mate (!) and softdrinks for all jammers during the 48h. On saturday and sunday morning there will be free breakfast. In the evenings\, we will have free pizza. For more meals\, there are plenty of delivery services nearby the Informatikum. \nThe availability of places is limited due to the limited number of available hardware and workplaces. For jammers from Hamburg who are not interested in creating XR games we recommend the InnoGames HQ jam site. \nEntrance Fee: None\nHours: Open for entire 48 hours\nWho Can Participate: Anyone\nAge Restrictions: 18+ only\nFood Options: Access to food in close vicinity. Drinks and snacks provided on site.\nAvailable Tools or Technology: 14 VR-ready computers\, 4 HTC Vives\, 3 Oculus Rifts\, 1 HoloLens\, 1 Meta2\, 1 Dell Mixed Reality Headset\, 1 GearVR + Smartphone\, 1 CAVE\nThis site has onsite security.\nAuditorium Space: This site has auditorium space available for post-Jam presentations.\nMaximum Capacity: 30
